This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 30 Mins

  • No prior experience or qualifications required

  • Participants must be physically capable of handling a fire extinguisher safely

  • Basic literacy and communication skills sufficient to follow safety instructions

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 12 months

  • Observation of practical fire extinguisher use

  • Correct identification of fire classes and appropriate extinguisher types

  • Demonstration of safe approach, operation, and shutdown procedures

  • Verbal questioning to confirm understanding of fire safety principles and limitations
